South Florida will see east coast showers and storms mostly to the west today.  The day starts with lows in the fairly comfortable mid 70s, and we’ll see sun and clouds in the morning.  Showers will pop up in the east coast metro areas around mid-day.  Look for late afternoon storms and showers along the Gulf coast and in the interior.  Highs on Sunday will be near 90 degrees.
stormsMonday will bring some early east coast showers, and then a strong Atlantic sea breeze will push the showers and storms to the west.  Monday’s highs will be near 90 degrees.
Tuesday will feature more of the same — early showers along the east coast and afternoon showers and storms to the west.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Morning sun and clouds and scattered afternoon showers and storms are on tap for Wednesday.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Thursday’s forecast calls for sun, clouds, and afternoon showers and storms in spots.  Highs on Thursday will be in the low 90s.
The tropical Atlantic remains quiet.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
