Hot, Hazy From Saharan Dust; Watching Two Systems

hazy

hazySouth Florida will be hot and hazy on Friday as Saharan dust sticks around. After another very warm start, Friday features plenty of hot sun and a hazy sky with a few clouds. A moderate risk of dangerous rip currents is in place at the Atlantic beaches. Highs will be mostly in the low 90s, with readings in the mid 90s at some inland locations — so stay out of the sun and stay hydrated.

hazyThe dust will hang around on Saturday, so look for hot sun, some clouds, and just the chance of a stray afternoon storm well inland. Saturday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s and a bit hotter in the western suburbs.

Some moisture will work its way in on Sunday, so a few afternoon storms are in the forecast. Sunday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

hazyMonday will bring a few early showers in spots, a mix of sun and clouds, and a few afternoon storms forming along the sea breeze. Highs on Monday will be in the low 90s.

Tuesday features an early shower, sun and clouds, and some afternoon storms. Tuesday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

hazyIn the tropics, we’re watching the wave in the eastern Atlantic. It has a high chance of developing and could become a depression late in the weekend or early next week. A wave in the central Caribbean has a low chance of development as it moves toward Central America.
