Today, scattered showers across much of the region especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Steadier rain may accompany much of the shower activity, with some heavy downpours. A few thunderstorms are possible mainly over interior areas this afternoon and evening.
High temperatures the lower 80s in eastern areas, to mid 80s in the interior and western areas.
Monday night, shower activity will dwindle after remaining showers/storms weaken over the Gulf Coast in the evening. Low temperatures will generally be in the 60s, except near 70 in the east coast metro. Localized areas of patchy fog/smoke will be possible in the interior, especially in vicinity of ongoing wildfires.
Tuesday, will be another day of widely scattered to scattered showers, mainly concentrated over the interior and Gulf Coast. Generally dry Tuesday night outside of a brief light shower across eastern areas. Some lingering moisture will remain in place into Wednesday with widely scattered showers possible.
High temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the 80s with low temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday night mainly in the 60s except for near 70 readings in the east coast metro.
Slightly drier air will work into the region beginning Thursday.
Precipitation chances may increase late in the weekend as a frontal boundary approaches from the north. With decreased shower coverage and more sunshine, temperatures will be mild through the period, with highs well into the 80s and even pushing 90 in portions of the interior, and lows in the mid 60s to lower 70s.
