Fighting over the estate of a deceased loved one: It’s a spectator sport that’s impacted the families of celebrities as diverse as Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Jackson, and now, Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Echevarria.
Alexia, 49, was married to Miami businessman Herman Echevarria, who died of a heart attack in his downtown condo in September at the age of 61.
They were married, but separated!
And now, in a lawsuit filed in Miami earlier this month, Alexia is accusing stepsons Herman Echevarria Jr. and Nelson Echevarria of trying to improperly seize the $3 million Miami Beach residence and flashy Maserati that they all shared when their old man was alive, according to court records.
Alexia, the self-described Cuban Barbie, claims to love Herman Jr. and Nelson as if they were her own sons, though the “sons’” behavior (like threatening to sue their stepmother if she didn’t hand over the car keys) suggests that the relationship might not be as warm and fuzzy as the Real Housewife is trying to portray.
