The Piano Man listed them for sale Tuesday, slightly more than a year after buying the adjacent waterfront South Ocean Boulevard properties.
We guess he won’t keep them for the longest time.
Joel is selling the 9-bedroom, 9-bathroom Atlantic-to-Intracoastal mansion at 1920 South Ocean Boulevard for $19.5 million, and the vacant lot next door for $9.5 million.
If he gets his asking price, he’ll no doubt feel like a big shot for having turned a huge profit in a record time: He plunked down $11.8 million and $6.5 million for the real estate in March and May 2014.
A real estate source in Manalapan who asked not to be named said Joel is leaving after his attempts to buy a third property to the south, at 1960 South Ocean, never materialized.
The 9,312 square-foot house includes hand painted Pecky Cypress beamed ceilings, a cabana bath, and exquisite brick ceiling kitchen.
If Joel’s able to unload the properties, we’ll miss him and hope he won’t be a Stranger. He was a visible presence in the area last winter. The singer was often spotted in gourmets joints on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach as well as chichi Palm Beach restaurants.
