HOLLYWOOD — Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra made news Saturday night at the Miami Heat’s yearly charity dinner at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.
He is getting married on July 1, he told a Gossip Extra operative, to former Miami Heat cheerleader Nikki Sapp.
“He says it’d be a problem if the Heat go in the Finals,” our spywitness said. “A seven-game finals could go until June 19. He’d have a little more than a week to be ready. But I’m not sure anyone expects the Heat in the finals.”
We happen to know the lovebirds — he is 45, she is 27 — have registered at Williams-Sonoma, in case no one has bought them a salt shaker just yet.
As for the location, it’ll be in South Florida but even the bride-to-be, who’s planning the entire event, is keeping the location under wraps for now.
Spoe and the hottie, who were engaged in September, attended last night’s Reid & Fiorentino’s Call of the Game Dinner, a yearly charity gala that always seems to fall in the middle of the Heat’s playoff push.
This year was no exception, with the Heat fighting for home-court advantage in the early rounds.
Still, there were quite a few notables in the crowd, including State Senate hopeful Lauren Book, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel, former Miami Dolphins cornerback Troy Vincent, sports broadcaster Dick Stockton and Heat president Pat Riley.
