Let Someone In Orlando Win

mega millions

The jackpot for Florida’s Mega Millions is up to an estimated $310 million, the result of rollovers since March 11.

And, as much as I don’t play favorites, I do have one request this go-round.
Please, Lord, let someone in Orlando win!  I know that’s ironic, considering the center of Florida is so anti-gambling, but c’mon, they really need a happy story up there in Orange County.

Drawing Is Tonight

The drawing is at 11 p.m.,  Friday. Tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m., Friday. Tickets are $1. That $310 million is an annuity paid over 30 years. If you want all the money at once, the lump-sum payment on $310 million would be about $211 million.

In the past, large Powerball or Mega Millions jackpots would create frantic ticket sales, but since the historic $1.6 billion Powerball in January, that $310 million number has a way to go before it starts making the national news cycle.

Florida Lottery officials point out that in addition to the main jackpot, players have the opportunity to win lower-tier prizes ranging from $1 to $5 million; 34 Floridians have hit for at least $1 million since Mega Millions began here in May 2013.

Mega Millions drawings are Tuesdays and Fridays. Powerball and Florida Lotto drawings are Wednesdays and Saturdays. Get info at FlaLottery.com
