Clothes Mentor Naples Redefines Second Hand

By Terri Lynn, SouthFloridaReporter.com, Managing Editor, September 4, 2015—Most women will agree that they have hidden secrets in their closets-clothes and shoes that they no longer wear for a multitude of reasons. Eventually, the clothes get relegated to the back of the closet never to be worn again.

Now, instead of hoping a consignment store will sell them or giving them away, there’s a new chain of re-sale clothing stores rapidly popping up across the country that pays cash on the spot.  Luckily, there’s one in Naples–Clothes Mentor!

“All day, every day in our store, we pay cash for brand-name, gently-used fashions and accessories,” said Phil Baker, owner of Clothes Mentor of Naples.

“Unlike a consignment shop, we pay immediately for the items that we accept to sell in our store,” he added.

“Who doesn’t like some extra cash?” Baker said. “Our philosophy is, if you are not wearing it, get cash for it.”

Baker’s Clothes Mentor of Naples, a 5,000 square foot store at 9051 Tamiami Trail N., opened in November, 2012 and sales have exceeded his projections. “On any given day we have over 17,000 items of merchandise on our racks,” he said.

Clothes Mentor of Naples buys women’s items that are clean, in style and in excellent condition.  “We only sell great items that have been carefully inspected for quality and perfection,” he stated.  “Once we get the inventory, it is placed on the selling floor right away at dramatically discounted prices.”

Word of mouth has traveled quickly and Clothes Mentor of Naples has a constant stream of customers from all across the state, “Since Naples is a vacation destination, we are seeing alot of sellers from Ft. Lauderdale and Miami,” he added.

“We have a devoted clientele who love to sell to us and buy from us. It’s win -win for everyone and you see lots of smiling faces in our store,” said Baker.
