Clothes Mentor Naples Celebrating 3 Year Anniversary

By Terri Lynn, SouthFloridaReporter.com, Managing Editor, Nov. 6, 2015 – Three years ago, Naples businessman, Phil Baker, opened Clothes Mentor Naples, a women’s resale store that features name brand clothing, handbags, jewelry and accessories. All day, every day, Clothes Mentor pays CASH on-the-spot, to purchase better brand-name “gently-used” women’s fashions and accessories.

Crew, Cache, Chico’s, Dooney & Bourke, Coach, Ann Taylor, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, INC., Lilly Pulitzer and many, many more.

Clothes Mentor Naples is part of a national chain with over 130 locations, including 8 in Florida. What makes Clothes Mentor unique is that unlike consignment stores, where you may wait months for a check, the store pays cash for gently used name brand fashions, shoes, handbags and accessories that they buy.

According to Baker, the popularity of the store has exceeded his expectations and many times his Naples location is number one in sales in the country.

Faith Based Events

“We have fantastic merchandise and our customers know they will find the brands they love at a fraction of the retail price. I raised 6 daughters, I know how expensive women’s clothing can be,” Baker said.

To commemorate the store’s three year anniversary, Clothes Mentor Naples is offering shoppers 20% off on all merchandise inside the store from Friday, November 6 through Monday, November 9.

Since its inception, Clothes Mentor Naples has been very involved with numerous charities. Twice a year the store holds a sidewalk sale to benefit The Gabriel House and donates clothing for women rejoining the workforce.

Recently, Clothes Mentor Naples read about a Naples student, Yanet Gomez, who received a scholarship to Harvard University. Baker,  a Boston transplant,  knew how brutally cold the winters can be. “We reached out to Yanet and invited her to a shopping spree at the store. Our team outfitted her in sweaters, coats and boots. She just wrote us to let us know that thanks to us she is staying warm,” Baker said.
