More Sun, Fewer Showers and Storms

Sunday features a mix of sun and clouds, along with mainly afternoon showers and storms in the East Coast metro area.  The Gulf Coast will be mostly sunny in the morning, with some showers and storms developing during the afternoon.  Look for good sun, some clouds, and maybe a shower or two in the Keys.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents along the Palm Beach County coast.  Highs on Sunday will be near 90 degrees on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Monday will bring mostly sunny skies and some afternoon showers and storms to the East Coast metro area, while the Gulf Coast will see plenty of sun in the morning and some showers and storms in the afternoon.  Look for a mix of sun, clouds, showers, and a few storms in the Keys.  Monday’s highs will be near 90 degrees on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Tuesday will feature a mix of sun, clouds, showers, and mainly afternoon showers and storms on the mainland.  Look for more clouds than sun and periods of showers in the Keys.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the upper 80s in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and in the low 90s along the Gulf Coast.

Wednesday will be a day of clouds, showers, and storms around South Florida.  Heavy rain and localized flooding are possible.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the upper 80s in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and near 90 degrees along the Gulf Coast.

Faith Based Events

Thursday’s forecast calls for sun at times but more clouds, showers, and storms.  Highs on Thursday will be in the upper 80s.

In the tropics, the wave in the eastern Atlantic has a medium chance of becoming a depression during the next several days as it moves generally to the west-northwest.  We’ll continue to keep an eye on it.

Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
