Wednesday features a mix of sun and clouds alternating with plenty of showers and storms in the East Coast metro area.  The Gulf Coast will see showers in the morning and periods of storms in the afternoon that will last into the early evening.  Heavy rain is possible on the mainland, especially in the east coast metro area.  Look for a mix of sun, clouds, and some showers in the Keys.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents along the Palm Beach County coast.  Highs on Wednesday will be in the low 90s on the mainland and mostly in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Thursday will bring a mix of sun, clouds, and a few storms in the morning on the mainland, but plenty of showers and storms will develop in the afternoon and evening.  Look for mostly sunny skies and a few showers in the Keys. Thursday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Friday will feature more clouds than sun and plenty of showers and storms on the mainland, while the Keys will be mostly cloudy with periods of showers.  Friday’s highs will be mostly in the upper 80s.

Saturday will see mostly sunny skies alternating with periods of showers and storms on the mainland.  Look for clouds, showers, and storms in the Keys.  Saturday’s highs will be mostly in the upper 80s.

Sunday’s forecast calls for plenty of sun and periods of showers and storms on the mainland and mostly sunny skies in the Keys.  Highs on Sunday will be near 90 degrees on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

The tropical Atlantic remains quiet right now.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
