Monday features mostly sunny skies in the morning, with showers and storms developing in the midafternoon and lingering into the early evening.  Highs on Monday will be in the low 90s on the mainland and near 90 degrees in the Keys — but it will feel about 10 degrees hotter, so stay hydrated and out of the sun.

Tuesday will bring lots of clouds and periods of showers and storms to the mainland.  The Keys will see more clouds than sun and some showers.  Tuesday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Wednesday will feature plenty of clouds alternating with showers and storms on the mainland.  Look for a mix of sun, clouds, and a few showers in the Keys.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the upper 80s in the east coast metro area and the Keys and near 90 degrees along the Gulf coast.

Thursday will see a mix of sun and clouds with midafternoon to early evening showers and storms on the mainland.  The Keys will see plenty of clouds and showers.  Thursday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Faith Based Events

Friday’s forecast calls for clouds, showers, and storms.  Highs on Friday will be near 90 degrees on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Tropical Storm Chantal reached the South Carolina coast early Sunday morning.  What’s In the tropics, Chantal came ashore in South Carolina as a tropical storm early on Sunday.  Chantal weakened to a depression as it moved over North Carolina, but it has been dropping flooding rains on portions of the Carolinas and Virginia.  Elsewhere, the tropical Atlantic is quiet.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
