By Jose Lambiet, GossipExtra.com, for SouthFloridaReporter.com, Dec. 31, 2015 – BOCA RATON — Rats, according to a complaint filed last week with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, are terrorizing the guards who control traffic in and out of the Seasons of Boca Raton community billed as one of South Florida’s poshest.

The rodents, according to the paperwork, are multiplying in the safety of their home in the ceiling of the guardhouse.

A few traps appeared recently, but one of the security guards tells us the animals don’t seem to feel the pain.

“They’re all over the place,” he tells us. “We’re buzzing cars into the community while rats are scurrying around all night.”

Faith Based Events

The OSHA complaint is not against the development but against the West Palm Beach office of Elite Protection Services, the security company with the contract.

According to the allegations of unsafe work conditions, the guards are also complaining they’re not properly licensed to patrol the community at night, and the bikes they are provided to make their rounds are not equipped for the job.

OSHA is also looking at allegations of retaliation against employees who tell the residents about the problems.

Seasons of Boca Raton, at the corner of Jog and Clint Moore roads, is located in the famous Millionaire’s Mile area of the city.

Houses currently for sale there vary in value between $800,000 and $1.2 million.

Said Elite boss Jason Turner: “It’s from a disgruntled employee who’s being called out on his performance. He gave us his notice. That gatehouse is clean.”
