DELRAY BEACH — Ever turned green from drinking too much beer?

Well now you can, for real, and it’s a good thing thanks to Delray Beach’s own Saltwater Brewery, makers of micro-brewed IPAs like Screaming Reels.

The West Atlantic Avenue company has come out with a six-pack ring that, unlike typical plastic, is no threat to wildlife if it ends up discarded in nature.

The ring is actually edible and comes in the form of a tasteful treat that’s 100% biodegradable and is made out of byproducts of the brewing process!

The six packs with that ring will cost a few cents more because of the production cost, but the company is banking on the fact that consumers are OK paying the extra cost to help save Ariel and her fish friends if rings end up in the ocean.

The brewery also has faith that other companies will hop on-board and use its find.

Said Chris Goves, Saltwater Brewery president: “We hope to influence the big guys and hopefully inspire them to get on board. It’s a big investment for a small brewery created by fishermen, surfers, and people who love the sea.”
