These Virgin Shoes Were Meant for Flying

By SouthFloridaReporter.com, Nov. 22, 2015 –  Virgin America and Zappos, the leading online shoe and apparel retailer, have announced a unique partnership with the limited edition ‘Virgin America Pump in Concourse Red.‘ The Stuart Weitzman Virgin America Pump sells for $355.

“Travel can be stylish and fun – and this limited edition shoe was designed with an eye for both function and fashion.  Created to be both comfortable and chic, it is the perfect travel accessory,” said Luanne Calvert, Chief Marketing Officer at Virgin America.

“Virgin America and Zappos are two brands known for elevating the customer experience – and we saw an opportunity to design a heel that was tailored for the demands of the airline’s in-flight teammates and that our customers would love too,” said Galen Hardy, Senior Director of Partnerships, of Zappos.

289301The concept for Virgin America teammates’ look – from uniform to hair and makeup – is “effortless travel chic.” The airline launched a new uniform in 2012, which included a red dress as a way for teammates to show support for the American Heart Association. The optional uniform option quickly became one of the most popular pieces for teammates and the following year, the red dress was officially made a permanent teammate uniform option. Virgin America teammates have also participated in the AHA Heart Walk every year since 2009 – and have raised nearly $70,000 for the organization to support awareness, research, education and community programs to benefit women.
