Sunny St. Patrick’s Day In Florida

St. Patrick’s day may start with some patchy fog near the Gulf coast and well inland, but sunny skies and a gentle breeze will make this a lucky day in South Florida.  A moderate risk of dangerous rip currents is in place at the Atlantic beaches.  Highs on Wednesday will be in the mid-80s.

Thursday will bring good sun, a few clouds, and a gusty, building breeze.  A few showers are possible in the evening and overnight.  Thursday’s highs will be in the mid to upper 80s in the east coast metro area and the mid-80s along the Gulf coast.

Friday will see showers working their way from west to east as a front approaches.  Look for a mix of sun and clouds and a gusty breeze.  Friday’s highs will be in the mid-80s in the east coast metro area and the upper 70s along the Gulf coast.

Faith Based Events

Saturday morning will be cool, with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.  The day will see good sun and some clouds at times.  Saturday’s highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.

Sunday will feature plenty of sun and a few clouds.  Look for a few passing showers in the east coast metro area.  Highs on Sunday will be in the upper 70s.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
