Some Sun, More Clouds, and a Gusty Breeze

Saturday features more clouds than sun on the mainland, and the East Coast metro area will see a gusty breeze.  The Keys will see mostly sunny skies.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic and Gulf beaches as a front approaches.  Highs on Saturday will be mostly in the low-80s in the East Coast metro area, the mid-70s along the Gulf Coast, and the Keys.

Sunday will bring mostly sunny skies around South Florida, plus a few showers near the Gulf Coast.  Sunday’s highs will be in the low-80s in the East Coast metro area, the mid-70s along the Gulf Coast, and the Keys.

Martin Luther King Day will feature a cool start, with lows in the mid-50s to near 60 degrees on the mainland.  The day will be mostly cloudy with a cool and gusty breeze.  Monday’s highs will only reach the upper-60s in the East Coast metro area and the mid-60s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

Tuesday morning will be quite cool, with lows in the mainland ranging from the low-50s to near 60 degrees.  Then look for lots of clouds and some showers on a gusty breeze.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the low-70s in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and the upper-60s along the Gulf Coast.

Faith Based Events

Wednesday’s forecast calls for chilly morning lows in the 50s, followed by lots of clouds and periods of showers on a gusty breeze.  Highs on Wednesday will be near 70 degrees in the East Coast metro area and in the upper-60s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
