Saturday will bring good sun and a few passing showers in the east coast metro area and mid to late afternoon showers and storms along the Gulf coast. Saturday’s highs will be low 90s.
Sunday will feature mostly sunny skies alternating with passing showers and a storm in spots. Sunday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Monday will see good sun with some mid to late afternoon showers and storms. Monday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun, clouds, and showers. Highs on Tuesday will be near 90 degrees.
Tropical Storm Henri is threatening portions of the Northeast on Sunday. At 5 am Friday, Henri was located near 30.2 North, 73.1 West, about 780 miles south-southwest of Nantucket, Massachusetts. Maximum sustained winds were 65 miles per hour, and Henri was moving west-northwest at 9 miles per hour. Henri is expected to be a category 1 hurricane by Saturday, and there is a hurricane watch for much of Long Island eastward to Cape Cod and including Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and Block Island. The region can expect hurricane force winds, heavy rain, and dangerous storm surge.
Tropical Storm Grace crossed the Yucatan on Thursday and is now strengthening in the Bay of Campeche. At 5 am Friday, Grace was located near 20.7 North, 93.3 West, about 265 miles east of Tuxpan, Mexico. Maximum sustained winds were 70 miles per hour, and Grace was moving west at 16 miles per hour. A hurricane warning is in effect from Puerto Veracruz to Cabo Rojo. Grace is expected to be a hurricane at landfall Friday night.
The remnants of Fred will finally move off the coast of Maine on Friday. And there’s one more system to watch — a wave in the eastern Atlantic that has a low chance of developing during the next five days.
