Showers Likely, Strong Storms Possible, Watching the Central Atlantic

Wednesday features sun and clouds alternating with showers and storms throughout the day, but especially in the afternoon and early evening.  Strong storms are possible in western portions of South Florida.  Look for periods of heavy rain, dangerous lightning, and damaging winds with these storms.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Highs on Wednesday will be mostly in the upper 80s in the east coast metro area, in the low 90s along the Gulf coast, and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Thursday will bring a mix of sun and clouds along with periods of showers and storms on the mainland.  Most of the storms will be in the afternoon and evening hours.  Look for a mix of sun, clouds, and a few showers in the Keys. Thursday’s highs will be near 90 degrees in the east coast metro area and in the upper 80s along the Gulf coast and in the Keys.

Friday will feature more clouds than sun and periods of showers and storms, especially in the afternoon and evening.  Friday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s in the east coast metro area and in the upper 80s along the Gulf coast and in the Keys.

Saturday will be another day of sun, clouds, and plenty of showers and storms on the mainland.  Look for a mix of sun, clouds, and showers in the Keys.  Saturday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Faith Based Events

Sunday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds with plenty of showers and storms on the mainland.  Look for sun and clouds in the Keys.  Highs on Sunday will be near 90 degrees on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

In the tropics, we’re watching Tropical Storm Andrea, which formed in the central Atlantic Monday morning — its brief window of opportunity.  TS Andrea is forecast to weaken rapidly as conditions become increasingly hostile in the middle of the Atlantic.
