Wednesday features hot sun, some clouds on a gusty breeze, and some afternoon showers and storms in the east coast metro area.  The Gulf coast will see plenty of hot sun alternating with stormy periods.  Look for a mix of sun, clouds, and a few showers in the Keys.  An elevated risk of dangerous rip currents continues at the Atlantic beaches.  Highs on Wednesday will be in the upper 80s right at the Atlantic coast and in the Keys and in the low 90s elsewhere in South Florida.

Juneteenth will bring mostly sunny skies and mainly afternoon showers and storms to the mainland, with the East Coast metro area also experiencing a gusty breeze.  The Keys will see a mix of sun, clouds, and maybe a shower.  Thursday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s in the east coast metro area and in the upper 80s along the Gulf coast and in the Keys.

Friday will feature a mix of sun and clouds around South Florida, with a few mainly afternoon storms in the east coast metro area.  The Gulf coast will see some morning showers and storms and periods of storms in the afternoon.  Friday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s in the east coast metro area and in the upper 80s along the Gulf coast and in the Keys.

Saturday will see mostly sunny skies with periods of showers and storms on the mainland.  The Keys will see good sun and a few clouds at times.  Saturday’s highs will be near 90 degrees on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Sunday’s forecast calls for good sun, some clouds, and periods of showers and storms.  Highs on Sunday will be mostly in the low 90s on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

The tropical Atlantic remains quiet.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
