windySouth Florida’s Sunday will feature windy conditions and passing showers. After a mild morning with some showers blowing through, the day will bring lots of clouds on the wind. Gusts could briefly exceed 35 miles per hour on Sunday. The risk of dangerous rip currents remains high at the Atlantic beaches and will remain at that level through Tuesday evening. Sunday’s highs will be mostly in the mid 70s, with a few higher readings inland.

windyMonday will still be breezy, but winds won’t be as strong as we’ve seen this weekend. The day will bring a mix of sun and clouds, and highs will be near the 80 degree mark.

Tuesday features some sun and some clouds on the breeze. Highs on Tuesday will be in the low 80s.

A mix of sun and clouds is the forecast for Wednesday, and highs will reach the low 80s. Then a weak front approaches on Wednesday evening, so look for some showers.

Thursday features some passing showers along with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will be near 80 degrees on Thursday.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
