It is common to hear from anyone, be it from our parents or friends, the importance of water. But, do you really know why?

Firstly, are you aware that 60 percent of your body consists of water, and that the earth surface is 71 percent covered by water? It is vital that you keep yourself hydrated all throughout the day, and at the same time, you must learn also the value of saving water.

Next time that you feel like you are stressed up with things, try to skip the cup of tea or coffee, but instead drink more water. According to a study, even though you are dehydrated by just 2 percent, it affects already your capability to think and focus on what you are doing, as dehydration affects your memory skills.
  2. As a result of improved brain power, the energy level of our bodies also does. Think of it as if your body is a big water tank; we would need to store water for us to have good brain and body function.
  3. Did you know? Water aids to improve your weight management. While it doesn’t have any magical effect on your weight loss program, but substituting colored-drinks such as sodas and coffee to water can definitely help. Not only that it helps you trim calorie intake, but it also improves your metabolism. Moreover, drinking water before every meal gives you the trick of feeling full, rather than eating more.
  4. Did you know? Water is good for your skin. While people say that is recommended not to drink too much cold water when actually it is okay. The body uses calories to heat up the water to body temperature. And when you are dehydrated or with no sufficient water in your body and does not secrete normal body temperature (hot secretion), you are more prone to obtaining skin disorders and your skin might easily get wrinkled.
  5. Did you know? Water prevents backaches, headaches… and even heartaches. Many didn’t know that dehydration can cause a lot of aches on our body, particularly backaches and headaches. It is important to keep our body with enough fluid as body cells that don’t have well-balanced fluid can lead to muscle fatigue. With a good balance of fluid in our body, we are also unlikely to be vulnerable to headaches, migraine and even heart problems.

Through sweating and urination, we are able to flush out unwanted waste in your body. With toxins being flushed out, comes preventing your body from other health condition such as blood pressure, urinary tract infections and even kidney stones. So why wait for these things to happen if you can actually prevent them from happening by drinking lots of water everyday?

  • Fruits and vegetables can help. There are fruits and vegetables that have the highest water content such as strawberries, oranges, pineapples, spinach, cauliflower, and eggplant.
  • Keep a bottle or glass of water always near you. If you feel like having something more noticeable, you can opt to have a grp water tank beside your house just to remind you of the purpose of drinking.

Just the thought of lack of water makes some of us feel not so well all throughout the day. There are people who might feel cranky at times, who are not in the right mood or even feeling headaches right here and there.

We think that we all need water to survive, whether it is just from your fridge, a water bottle from a store, from the rain, or even from a water tank, we should all know the importance of water.
