Warm and Breezy Weather Continues

South Florida is warm and breezy again on Friday as we continue our streak of warmer-than-normal days to close out 2018.  Friday features lots of clouds on the breeze along the east coast and a mix of sun and clouds along the Gulf coast.  A few showers will pass through the east coast metro area.  A high risk of dangerous rip currents remains in place at the Atlantic beaches on Friday, and at least a moderate rip current risk will last through the weekend along the east coast.  Highs on Friday will be in the low 80s.

 

Saturday will bring clouds, a few showers, and a bit of sun to the east coast metro area, while the Gulf coast will see a mix of sun and clouds again.  Saturday’s highs will be in the low 80s.

Sun and a few clouds are in the forecast throughout South Florida on Sunday.  Sunday’s highs will be in the low 80s.

Faith Based Events

Look for a warm, mostly sunny, and breezy end to 2018 on Monday.  Monday’s highs will be in the low 80s.  New Year’s Eve will be dry and mild, with temperatures in the low to mid 70s at midnight.

New Year’s Day will be mostly sunny and dry.  Highs on Tuesday will be in the low 80s.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
