Trader Joe’s Recalls Sparkling Water For Risk Of Glass Bottle Breakage, Potential Injuries

Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water

Trader Joe’s, in coordination with its supplier, is recalling specific lot codes of Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water (750mL) because of potential for cracked or damaged bottles that could pose a safety risk.

The issue was identified through research related to bottle breakage during production, with an estimated 1% of bottles in the affected lot codes potentially impacted. Trader Joe’s has advised customers not to use the product and to dispose of it carefully.

The recall affects products sold exclusively at Trader Joe’s stores in 12 states—Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas—between Dec. 27, 2024, and Jan. 28, 2025.

As of the posting of this recall, no customer injuries or reports of damaged bottles have been received.

Customers who purchased the recalled water are urged to discard it and visit any Trader Joe’s location for a full refund.

Cracked or damaged glass bottles can shatter unexpectedly, posing a risk of cuts or other injuries. Consumers handling the recalled product should take care to avoid injury during disposal.
