The Next Several Days Will Be Mostly Sunny

South Florida will enjoy a mostly sunny late April day on Thursday, but don’t count out seeing a shower or two. After a mild start, Thursday features plenty of sun with a few clouds, along with a few stray east coast showers at times. Highs on Thursday will be in the mid 80s in most locations and the low 80s along the Gulf coast.

 

Friday will see some showers return, but the day will also bring a mix of sun and clouds. Friday’s highs will be in the upper 80s in most locations and the mid 80s along the Gulf coast.

Look for some sun, more clouds, and periods of showers on Saturday as a weak front moves through. Saturday’s highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Faith Based Events

Sunday will bring sun, some clouds, and a few leftover showers in spots. Sunday’s highs will be in the mid 80s.

Monday will wrap up the month of April with good sun, a few clouds, and drier air. Highs on Monday will be in the mid 80s.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
