2017 Mazda6

Mazda certainly knows driving dynamics so their next frontier targets high-end features and greater refinement. And that’s just what they’re showcasing in the updated 2017 Mazda6 – the brand’s midsize family sedan with a starting MSRP of $22,780 including destination.

One of the new highlight features is called G-Vectoring Control or GVC.  It’s part of the brand’s SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS and its purpose is to better keep the car following the driver’s intended path, creating a stronger feeling of unity between driver and car, instilling greater confidence in driving and reducing accumulated fatigue on long drives.

It provides all occupants with a more comfortable and enjoyable drive and delivers better handling and greater stability on slippery surfaces.  It’s a software tweak so there’s no added weight and it works through more precise control of the engine’s drive torque.  Speaking of which, all Mazda6 models come equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine tuned for 184 horsepower and depending on trim can be matched to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Added sound absorption refinement, a new steering wheel, a more legible Active Driving Display and meters, enhanced driving position memory, new rear seat heaters, an improved quality feel for the rear center armrest, and a new interior package with higher quality materials and Nappa leather seats take the Mazda6’s cabin to a more upscale place.

Available in Sport, Touring and Grand Touring the later also available with the Premium Package which includes the gas-saving i-ELOOP regenerative braking and active grille shutters, gas mileage is rated as high as 30mpg in combined driving.
