Steve Looks Over The Most Adaptable Expedition Ever

Ford’s biggest SUV is the Expedition. And for the 2018 model year, it’s reborn with a new, lightweight aluminum skin, new EcoBoost powertrain and a host of new driver-assist technologies like active park assist and a 360-degree camera.

Plus, it’s the most adaptable Expedition ever with seating for up to 8 and a 2nd row seat with tip-and-slide functionality, providing easy access to the 3rd row without the need to first remove a child safety seat. Once there, even adults will appreciate more legroom and reclining seats.

It’s powered by a 3.5-liter turbo V6 mated to a new 10-speed automatic with a newly available electronic limited-slip differential on 4WD models improving off-road capability.  More than 50% of Expedition customers value towing so Ford offers their innovative Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which makes backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob.

The all-new Terrain Management System provides various drive modes for optimal vehicle handling in different conditions.  Inside, this is Ford’s first vehicle to offer wireless device charging plus there’s a Wi-Fi hotspot, dual-headrest rear seat entertainment system allowing passengers to view their home TV programming, SYNC3 with the latest smartphone connectivity, 6 USB chargers and an advanced cargo manager behind the 3rd row.

On sale this fall, Expedition is offered in XLT, Limited and Platinum series, all available in the extended-length Expedition MAX.
