Toyota is making their trio of driver of driver assist technologies standard on nearly all models, the latest of which is the 2017 Yaris – the brand’s least expensive offering. Called Toyota Safety Sense C, it includes a Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beams.
The Yaris is the first subcompact in the segment to standardize these safety features across all grades. Offered in both 3- and 5-door body styles, the Yaris’s Euro look is backed with Euro agility, stocked with a 106 horsepower 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, a sport-tuned suspension and a standard 5-speed manual transmission.
A 4-speed auto is an option. It’s tiny footprint and ultra-short overhangs provide a class-leading turning circle while at the same time packing cargo volume similar to a midsize sedan. The Yaris three- and five-door models come in L and LE grades, and five-door also offers the sporty SE grade.
In all Yaris models, the standard Entune Audio system includes a 6.1-inch touch screen, six speakers, HD Radio, aux-in jack, USB port with iPod® connectivity and control, hands-free phone capability, voice recognition, and music streaming via Bluetooth. A navigation system is an available port- or dealer-installed option.
Pricing starts at $16,115 including destination
