Steve Hammes Checks Out The Range Rover Evoque Convertible

It’s especially refreshing when an automaker puts a vehicle into production that appears forever relegated to concept car status. The new 2017 Evoque Convertible looks as though it emerged from a fan boy’s doodling pad; the first ever convertible SUV to join the Range Rover lineup.

There’s seating for 4 and approximately 9 cubic feet of cargo space all while maintaining the Evoque’s distinctive silhouette with the roof opened or closed.  It features the same 240-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and 9-speed automatic transmission as in the hardtop Evoque.  And just because it flaunts a new summer-fun attitude doesn’t mean it’s sacrificing its Land Rover heritage.

Its advanced 4-wheel drive system and added chassis bracings allow the Convertible to pass all procedures, achieving similarly outstanding off-road performance to existing Range Rover Dynamic derivatives.  It can even wade through water nearly 20” deep.  And when it’s the tarmac you’d ready to tear up, the Evoque Convertible accelerates from 0-ot-60mph in 7.8 seconds.

Faith Based Events

The fabric roof lowers in just 18 seconds and is offered exclusively in Ebony Black accompanying 13 exterior paint choices. Available in two specifications – SE Dynamic and HSE Dynamic, pricing starts at $51,740 including destination.
