We all know that Donald Trump is a versatile man having turned his hand to everything from business mogul to the President of the United States. However, over the years he has also graced the big screen although some of them were ‘blink and you will miss him’ moments. He has had cameo roles in a number of movies and many people don’t even realize that it is him because his appearance is so brief. Nevertheless, it gives Trump yet another thing that he can add to his rapidly growing CV, which has to be one of the most diverse ones around.
Some of the cameos and roles Trump has played
So, let’s take a look at some of the well known movies that have had the President of the United States gracing our screens before he headed to the White House. Of course, most of these roles were cameos where he played himself but let’s not forget that he has also starred in and produced a number of TV shows over the years as well.
After doing a phone search in the phone book and booking himself into the plush Plaza Hotel in New York, Kevin McCallister – AKA Macaulay Culkin – walks past a somewhat bemused looking man and questions him for directions. The young Kevin has, of course, been stranded in New York after being separated from his family so intends to make the most of it. Little did he know at the time that he was speaking to the future President of the United States.
This hit comedy was full of famous faces making cameos including Billy Zane, Posh Spice, and David Bowie. In fact, when Donald Trump made his cameo toward the start of the movie many people may not have realized who he was at the time. He was interviewed on the red carpet and at the time his future wife, Melania, also had a cameo role in the movie.
Ghosts Can’t Do It
This 1990 flick features as much younger looking Trump who actually had a supporting role rather than a cameo. It was a fantasy movie about a woman trying to bring her dead husband back to life. Sadly, Trump ended up winning an award for being worst supporting actor in the film, which also starred Bo Derek. Still, at least the future President managed to find out what it was like starring beside one of the world’s most iconic actresses.
Of course, Trump has also had influences on other movies, which includes the fabulous Back to the Future II. Here, the character Biff is actually based on Trump and the film actually predicted that Trump would become President. Trump does, naturally, continue to grace our screens but in quite a different way. These days, he is more likely to be plastered over the internet and TV as part of a controversial news story rather than on our big and small screens in a variety of movies.
