Skin troubles? There’s an app for that!

By Maggie Clark, Herald-Tribune, Aug 18, 2015 – Imagine it’s Saturday morning and you wake up with an itchy rash across your arm.

Even if you regularly see a dermatologist, that office won’t be open until Monday. So what do you do?

If you’re a patient in Southwest Florida, there’s an app for that.

Doctors at Riverchase Dermatology, a large practice group with offices from Fort Myers to Sarasota, are offering DermConnect, an app that allows anyone to take a picture of their skin with their smartphone, upload the photos into the DermConnect app, pay $59 and receive a diagnosis and treatment plan from one of Riverchase’s boardcertified dermatologists in 24 hours or less.

Faith Based Events

The goal of the free app, which is available for Apple and Android devices, is to give patients convenient access to a doctor and the ability to correspond with a boardcertified dermatologist on their own time, said Sara Ritacca, chief operations officer of Riverchase Dermatology.
