South Florida will see showers and storms late on Friday, followed by much cooler weather this weekend and beyond. After a warm start, Friday features an early mix of sun and clouds, followed by evening showers and storms as a strong cold front moves in. Highs on Friday will be in the mid 80s.

 

Saturday’s weather will be dominated by clouds and showers, with periods of heavy rain possible. Saturday’s highs will be in the upper 70s. Then skies will clear late on Saturday, and temperatures will drop.

Sunday morning will be quite cold, with lows mostly in the 40s. The day will bring lots of sun and a few clouds. But Sunday’s highs will top out in the upper 60s.

Monday morning will be chilly again, and the day will feature lots of sun and a few clouds. Monday’s highs will be near 70 degrees.

Tuesday will continue the trend of wintry weather, with a cold morning giving way to good sun and a few clouds. Highs on Tuesday will be in the mid 70s.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
