PALM BEACH GARDENS — Federal and state authorities served consecutive search warrants at the home of Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office critic Mark Dougan yesterday, and four complaints with supporting evidence filed against local officials by Dougan with the Palm Beach Commission on Ethics were among the files seized, Gossip Extra has learned.

Dougan, who’s been known as someone who files numerous ethics complaints, tells Gossip Extra this morning that his copies of complaints against Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, former PBSO detective Mark Lewis and Judge Marni Bryson were taken by PBSO deputies serving yesterday’s second search warrant.

That warrant, obtained by the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s office, was signed by Judge Ed Garrison. According to the document, the office of State Attorney Dave Aronberg is looking into allegations of interception of electronic devices and extortion, both felonies.

For some reason, says technology consultant Dougan, the same deputies also took the $1,000-aviator headphones he uses to fly private planes, a letter from a credit card company about a doubly-charged dinner — and his copies of corruption complaints he filed.

Faith Based Events

Dougan, by the way, is a key witness in the on-going federal lawsuit brought against PBSO by the family of an unarmed civilian killed in 2012 by a PBSO sergeant in still-mysterious circumstances. The judge in the case pointed at Dougan’s testimony as a reason why he thought the case should go to trial.

“I guess they want to send a message to anybody who files complaints against public officials in this county,” Dougan said today. “If you do, you’d better expect deputies at your house first thing in the morning.”

The inventory of items seized by deputies included two of Dougan’s cell phones, three memory sticks, seven computer hard drives, a Galaxy motherboard, a letter from PNC bank about an unauthorized check transaction and the copies of miscellaneous bills.

Former PBSO deputy Dougan, according to the warrant, is under investigation for impersonating a female caller in phone conversations with part-time PBSO detective Mark Lewis last fall.

  1. Hey Josie, your next interview with Dougan is going to have to be in Russia –

“Days before Gawker published the original story, the PBSO and FBI each executed a search warrant on the home of Mark Dougan, an ex-PBSO deputy who is an associate of BadWolf’s. Dougan is the founder of PBSOTalk.com, a website where BadWolf published the hacked personal information of thousands of law enforcement officers and others living in Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties. Since the publication of the story, GoDaddy has shuttered PBSOTalk after a request from the State Attorney’s Office in nearby Broward County, and Dougan has traveled to Moscow, where he says he is seeking political asylum. Reached by phone in Moscow Friday, Dougan said that he left the United States because he feared that he would be arrested here, either by the FBI or the PBSO.”
