By Al Sunshine, SouthFloridaReporter.com, Consumer Investigator, Oct. 21, 2015 – Shop much online?
if you do, you probably rely on those glowing product reviews you see on Amazon and other online vendors. But who’s writing those reviews, and are they getting paid for “Good Reports”?
The Feds have filed some charges in these cases.
But now one of the worlds biggest online vendors, Amazon, is fighting back to better safeguard it’s integrity. It’s filing a lawsuit against about 1000 “reviewers” who may be promoting products thru paid endorsements.
So what can customers do about it?
Read the fine print and try to research as you can about the products you’re buying online, and make sure to read the vendors return/refund policy.
In Amazon’s case, they’ve earned their customers loyalty with a basic no-nonsense return policy.
Don’t forget about bogus reviews as we approach the start of the 2015 holiday shopping season. Online purchases are expected to be even bigger than years’ past. And smart shoppers may have a little bit more homework behind the scenes, trying to figure out if a product is really a great deal, and if the glowing reviews are the real-deal or paid-for fakes.
