South Florida’s weather will be mostly nice on Monday as 2018 comes to an end.  Monday features a warm start and early fog along the Gulf coast and interior.  Then we’ll see good sun and some clouds with maybe a stray shower at some east coast locations.  A moderate risk of dangerous rip currents is in place at the Atlantic beaches.  Highs on Monday will be in the low to mid 80s.  New Year’s Eve will be mostly dry and warm, with temperatures in the low to mid 70s at midnight.

Tuesday will get 2019 off to a good start weatherwise, with a mix of sun and clouds and maybe a quick shower in spots.  Tuesday’s highs will be mostly in the mid 80s.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and warm again.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the low to mid 80s.

A few showers will return on Thursday, but we’ll also see sun and some clouds on the breeze.  Thursday’s highs will be mostly in the low 80s.

Faith Based Events

Friday’s forecast includes sun, clouds, and some passing showers as winds increase in advance of a weak front.  Highs on Friday will be in the low 80s.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
