image5South Florida will see mostly nice weather on Thanksgiving Day. Look for some passing showers in spots during the morning, followed by sun, clouds, and highs in the low 80s. A high risk of dangerous rip currents is in place at the Atlantic beaches on Thursday into Friday.

image6Friday will feature sun, clouds, and possibly a stray shower along with those bargains at the mall. Friday’s highs will be in the low 80s.

Saturday will feature sun, clouds, a few passing showers, and highs near 80 degrees.

Sunday’s weather will be a mix of sun, clouds, maybe a stray shower, and highs in the upper 70s.

Look for plenty of sun and a few clouds on Monday, when highs will top out in the upper 70s.

Hurricane Otto is moving slowly into Nicaragua and Costa Rica on Thursday. At 4 am on Thursday, Otto was located near 11.2 North, 82.9 West, and was moving west at 8 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were 85 miles per hour. It is forecast to retain tropical storm strength this weekend and gradually weaken in the eastern Pacific.

She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
