South Florida won’t escape the rain on Wednesday, but more sun will be around. Some early showers in Miami-Dade and Broward will blow in on the ocean breeze, followed by periods of sun, highs in the low 90s, and developing afternoon storms. The Atlantic sea breeze should push most of the storms west of the Miami-Dade and Broward metro areas, but don’t count out some late afternoon storms in the western suburbs. Most of the storms will be over the Everglades and along the Gulf coast, including the Naples area.
We’ll see lower rain chances on Thursday, with some early showers on the ocean breeze along the east coast, highs in the low 90s, and afternoon storms in spots throughout South Florida.
An ocean breeze, a few early showers, periods of sun, and isolated afternoon storms throughout the region are in the forecast for Friday. Friday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Saturday features a few early showers on the breeze and an increasing risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches, and highs will be in the low 90s. An isolated storm or two will develop on Saturday afternoon, especially in the western portions of metro Miami-Dade and Broward and along the Gulf coast.
In the tropics, the disorganized cluster of storms off Florida’s northeast Gulf coast are finally shifting westward, bringing plenty of rain to most of Florida’s panhandle. While this feature is not expected to develop into a depression, it will continue to drench the region, including the already hard-hit area from the Big Bend south to the northern reaches of Tampa Bay.
