More Afternoon Storms for South Florida

By Donna Thomas, SouthFloridaReporter.com Meteorologist, July 16, 2015 – South Florida is back in the rainy season mode, and afternoon storms will be back again on Thursday.  After a mostly rain-free morning, look for storms to fire up again around lunchtime.  We’ll see some periods of heavy downpours (including some flooding in saturated areas), gusty winds, and dangerous lightning as storms move through into the early evening.  Thursday’s highs will be around 90 degrees.

Storms will develop on Friday as well, but coverage won’t be as extensive as we’ve seen the past few days.  Friday’s temperatures will top off in the low 90s.

The weekend will feature a return to our more typical pattern of mid-to-late afternoon storms, especially inland, and that pattern will continue into the first half of next week.  Highs will reach the low 90s each day.
