Since Hurricane Irma, mold has become a big problem in the Florida Keys due to the fact that many residents were unable to access their homes for over a week.
MoldExpert.com, the largest mold inspection company in Florida, is setting up their first mobile station to assist residents from the Florida Keys and help them obtain mold inspections and Cat 3 inspections for their property.
Mold Inspections for Residents of the Florida Keys

MoldExpert.com’s mold claim center is located 5585 Overseas Highway (Winn Dixie Shopping Center) in Marathon, Florida. It is opened 7 days a week, 10a-7p
There are no out-of-pocket costs to insured homeowners and all homeowners with property insurance are advised it’s better to be better safe than sorry.
“Keep in mind, it takes as little as 24 hours for mold to grow. The chances that many properties in the Keys are already affected is almost certain,” said Joe Puentes, founder of MoldExpert.com
“If your insurance covers it then it is a no brainer. Your family’s safety should be priority one,” Puentes added.
According to the Center for Disease Control, mold takes as little as 24 hours to grow. To make matters worse, flood waters which may have contained the dangerous E. coli bacteria brought on by raw sewage co-mingled with the flood waters making the mold problem even more severe.
“Mold was already growing when we finally were granted access to visit our home. All my neighbors have mold – the devastation here is horrible,” said Big Pine resident, Franklin Palma.
