FORT LAUDERDALE — Ryan Tannehill must be rock solid in his quarterback job for the Miami Dolphins.
The four-year starter, who has yet to quarterback the Fins to the playoffs, just spent $4.3 million cash on a canal home in Fort Lauderdale‘s Colee Hammock area.
Gossip Extra has learned exclusively Tannehill, 27, and wife Lauren closed on the property at 420 SE 17th Avenue March 4, according to public records.
The Texas gunslinger tried to make his big purchase quietly through a Santa Monica, Calif., trust fund but was outed by the name of the fund’s trustee, John Ufer. He is wife Lauren’s father.
MLS records show the Tannehills snagged the lot hours after it came on the market Feb. 15 for $4.5 million.
They inked the contract Feb. 16 for $200,000 less than the listed price, and even grabbed most of the furniture.
So, what did they get for his hard-earned cash, a part of his $20 million-a-year salary?
The 5,400-square-foot, one-story home designed by a Frank Lloyd Wright disciple in 1981, boasts four bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms plus a separate guest house with one bedroom and an exercise gym.
