If they were so smart, wouldn’t they know what they were promoting might be breaking the law, or did they think they could “outsmart” everyone?
If you paid “Lumosity” for their “brain training”, the Feds say they couldn’t prove their claims. …and specifically targeted Senior Citizens fearing loss of their memory and mental abilities.
According to the FTC, “Lumosity preyed on consumers’ fears about age-related cognitive decline, suggesting their games could stave off memory loss, dementia, and even Alzheimer’s disease,” said Jessica Rich, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “But Lumosity simply did not have the science to back up its ads.”
