Help Wanted: Chief Flamingo Officer (Video)

If you love flamingos and need a new job, there’s an opening for a “Chief Flamingo Officer” at a resort called Baha Mar. Buzz60’s Nick Cardona has more.

Baha Mar—a 1,000-acre resort in the Bahamas—is looking for a CFO. But this isn’t your average CFO position, with financial prerequisites and a boring six-figure salary. Nope, this job posting is for Chief Flamingo Officer… which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like.

According to the job posting, the Chief Flamingo Officer will work with Baha Mar’s chief scientist to care for the resident flock of flamingos, set to arrive this spring. Duties include managing the diet and habitat requirements of the birds, overseeing the breeding programs, treating sick or injured animals, and providing educational tours for resort guests. The CFO and flamingos will work together in the resort’s “Flamingo Mansion,” a massive indoor-outdoor habitat built specifically for the species. The program is part of the the CNTraveler.com (BEACH Sanctuary)—a space dedicated to preserving and celebrating the wildlife of the Bahamas.
