Foggy Start then Warm and Somewhat Humid Today

South Florida will be warm and somewhat humid on Sunday as the final weekend of 2018 wraps up.  The day starts with patchy fog along the Gulf coast and much of the east coast metro area and dense fog in the interior.  Then the fog lifts, and we’ll see plenty of sun, a few clouds, and maybe a stray east coast shower.  Highs on Sunday will be in the low 80s.

Monday will be mostly sunny with a few clouds and the chance of an isolated east coast shower.  Monday’s highs will be in the low 80s.  New Year’s Eve will be mostly dry (with maybe a stray shower along the east coast), with temperatures in the low to mid 70s at midnight.

Tuesday kicks off 2019 with good sun and a few clouds.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the low 80s.

Wednesday will bring plenty of sun and a few clouds.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the low 80s.

Faith Based Events

Thursday’s forecast includes sun, clouds, and some passing showers as a front approaches our area.  Highs on Thursday will be near 80 degrees.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
