Roger Ailes, the man who founded Fox News Channel then left in disgrace when several female anchors accused him of sexual harassment, has found a great place to shield his fortune from sex harassment lawsuits.
Ailes, 76, is the secret new owner of a house in swanky Palm Beach bought earlier this month by a bank trust for $36 million, Gossip Extra has learned.
And the breathtaking modern-style beachfronter is designed to help Ailes shield millions from lawyers and young women he alleged tried to bang like former Fox News anchorwomen Gretchen Carlson and Andrea Tantaros.
In Florida, courts cannot force the sale of someone’s home to pay off judgments, and troubled tycoons have routinely used the state’s law to invest in real estate.
Ailes has owned property in Palm Beach County in the past, including a beachfront condo on Singer Island that he sold to Fox financial guru Neil Cavuto for $525,000 in 2003.
Ailes’ new purchase, which closed on Sept. 19, was made in the name of City National Bank of Florida Trust No. 2401-3263-00.
Neither Ailes’ name nor his wife Elizabeth‘s can be found in official records.
Palm Beach County estate lawyer Ron Kochman, who represented the seller, declined comment before hanging up the phone without waiting for follow-up questions.
