Feeling Like Autumn

Wednesday features sunny skies and a cool breeze.  An elevated risk of dangerous rip currents remains in place at the Atlantic beaches on Wednesday.  Highs on Wednesday will be in the mid 70s.

Thursday will bring plenty of sun and a few clouds.  Thursday’s highs will be in the upper 70s.

Look for good sun and a few clouds on an ocean breeze on Friday.  Friday’s highs will be in the low 80s.

Saturday will feature sunny skies along the Gulf coast and a mix of sun and clouds in the east coast metro area.  Saturday’s highs will be in the low 80s.

Faith Based Events

Sunday will bring sunny skies to the Gulf coast, while the east coast metro area will see sun, clouds, and a few showers.  Highs on Sunday will be near 80 degrees.

In the tropics, Tropical Storm Sebastien formed about 275 miles northeast of the Leeward Islands at midday on Monday.  Sebastien was moving north-northeast at 8 miles per hour, and its maximum sustained winds were 45 miles per hour.  Sebastien is forecast to be absorbed by a front on Thursday.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
