President Donald J. Trump plans to officially announce that he is seeking re-election in 2020, according to a presidential tweet on Friday.
The Trump for President Re-Election Rally will be held at the Amway Center, 400 W Church Street, Orlando, FL. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and plenty of parking is available. Trump is expected to arrive at 8 p.m. and speak for about an hour.
“I will be announcing my Second Term Presidential Run with First Lady Melania, Vice President Mike Pence, and Second Lady Karen Pence on June 18th in Orlando, Florida, at the 20,000 seat Amway Center,” the president announced on Twitter on Friday. “Join us for this Historic Rally!”
This will be Trump’s first campaign event in Orlando since 2016 when he ended his presidential campaign with a “USA Thank You Tour” at the Central Florida Fairgrounds.
Tens of thousands of supporters have attended Trump rallies throughout Florida. Long a swing state with 29 of the 270 electoral votes needed to win, the Sunshine State is an important part of Donald Trump’s strategy to win re-election in 2020.
“People ask me, ‘Is Florida still a swing state?’” stated Brad Parscale – Trump’s 2020 campaign manager – before a packed crowd at the Broward Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner in Fort Lauderdale. “Almost not. Pretty soon, this is going to be solid Republican.”
“Florida is becoming Trump country,” Parscale said before exclaiming “This is Trump country.”
“It’s extremely exciting President Trump and his campaign have chosen Orlando, the City Beautiful, for his 2020 campaign kickoff,” Randy Ross, Chairman of the 2016 Orange County 4 Trump campaign, told South Florida Reporter.
“The I-4 corridor continues to be important to winning the state. Some say Florida is a swing state. I say Florida is a Trump state. Together we can do this one more time for … America!”
Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.
