Discover the Dominican Republic

What do you get when you mix rum, humpback whales, monasteries, and gorgeous beaches? You get the island nation of the Dominican Republic, of course. Here you can immerse yourself in outdoor activities like a safari, snorkeling, and exploring the lagoons. If you prefer indoor adventures take your time strolling through the monastery, the first cathedral and fabulous restaurants and bars.

Get Outside

Keep your eyes open for the wonders of The 3 Eyes National Park (Los Tres Ojos) where beautiful clear water fills three lagoons formed by limestone cave sinkholes. The caves add an ethereal feel to these mystical places.

Look up to Indigenous Eyes Ecological Park and Reserve to see the Ridgeway Hawk soaring in this reserve dedicated to the preservation of endangered animals. See native plants, visit the freshwater lagoons, and watch as these predatory birds search for small mammals and reptiles.

Faith Based Events

Do you hear dinosaurs? Well, maybe not, but the jungle of Parque Nacional Los Haitises is where Jurassic Park was filmed. While you may not see a T-Rex come crushing through the mangroves and verdant foliage, you will get to experience what a true rainforest feels, smells, and looks like.

Want to Catch a Wave?

If you’re looking to ride the waves, you’ve come to the right place. Grab your board and head for the…sand? That’s right! Do some sand surfing in one of the most unique volcanic sand dunes in the Caribbean – Dunas de Bani. This dune is perfect for some sand surfing while watching the Caribbean Sea.

If you’d rather stick to traditional surfing, the rushing waves of Cabarete await. Surfer Mecca is just 20-minutes from the airport in Puerto Plata. After the thrilling thrusts of the waves have landed you back onshore, enjoy the easy attitude of the small village.

Aquatic Mammal Encounters

Swim with the dolphins, maybe get a smooch from one of these loving mammals too, when you visit Ocean World Adventure Park, Marina, and Casino. After your encounter with the marine animals, you may feel lucky. The 4-story casino next door is the perfect spot to see if Lady Luck will shine on you.

40-tons of fun are waiting to show off to potential mates (and visitors) from December to March in the waters of Samana during humpback whale mating season. Watch for tail fins to smack the water. See the whales breach. You may even get to hear the whale songs. Go home to one of the all-inclusive Dominican Republic villas to rest after an active day on land or sea. Refresh and get ready for some fantastic nightlife.

Nightlife

When the sun sets in the Dominican Republic, the party begins. Get ready to pump up the fun as you dance to Calypso, Reggae, and other Caribbean beats in one of the many bars located in Zona Colonial. Sip some mamajuana or coconut punch rum made in the nearby Pirate Rum Factory. The flavorful rum will take your dance moves to the next level.

Wind down with a dessert at one of the late-night restaurants before you head back to one of the luxurious all-inclusive Dominican Republic villas. Sleep well in your private villa. Tomorrow is another day in paradise!
