Developer Mark Bellissimo has plans to build America’s largest polo venue right here in Palm Beach County.
Bellissimo purchased the the 2,100-seat International Polo Club Palm Beach in May for $72 million from the imprisoned former polo mogul John Goodman.
Now, Bellissimo’s Wellington Equestrian Partners has submitted an application to build a new stadium with 3,000 and four other show rings with 3,350 seats on the 250-acre property.
The plans also outline additional redevelopment: a new restaurant, spa, banquet area, clubhouse and parking for 2,557 cars.
Bellissimo is the owner of the Winter Equestrian Festival and the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.
He also purchased the Wanderers Club from Goodman who is serving 16 years for a DUI accident and leaving the motorist he struck to die.
