By Terri Lynn, SouthFloridaReporter.com, Managing Editor, Jan. 5, 2016 – One of SW Florida’s most highly anticipated fundraising events is the Clothes Mentor Sidewalk Sale that raises money for The Gabriel House, a loving and compassionate home for abandoned and medically needy children.
The sale has been an annual summer event and due to its overwhelming popularity, Clothes Mentor Fort Myers and Clothes Mentor Naples will be having another Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, January 23, 2016.
Customers purchase a shopping bag and fill it with as much fashionable merchandise as they can –all for $20 a bag. The Sidewalk Sale will run at both stores on January 23, from 10 a-6 p, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to The Gabriel House. Also, both stores offer an additional savings of 20% off everything inside the store.
Last July, more than 100 people lined up early at Clothes Mentor Naples for the opportunity to stuff a bag with designer fashions. Clothes Mentor Naples had dozens of racks loaded with over 3000 pieces of clothing, shoes and handbags at the sale. Items included fashions from Chicos, Talbots, Inc., Citron, J. Crew, Kate Spade, Tory Burch and other popular labels. The sale ended in a record breaking 39 minutes and raised close to $6000 for the charity.

“We care about our children and the Gabriel House needs our help,” said Phil Baker, owner, Clothes Mentor Naples.
Clothes Mentor is a women’s resale store that features name brand clothing, handbags, jewelry and accessories. All day, every day, Clothes Mentor pays CASH on-the-spot, to purchase better brand-name “gently-used” women’s fashions and accessories.
The Gabriel House rescues children who have been abandoned, discarded and who are in need of medical treatment. The vision is to rescue, rehabilitate and help these children reach their highest level of independence and functioning. http://gabrielhouse.org/

Last year, Wendi, a Clothes Mentor manager, showed us how she packed 23 items into that little plastic shopping bag. The total cost, if purchased separately at Clothes Mentor, would have topped $200. At $20 for the bag, that’s quite a savings.
