Three new board members have been named to the Board of Directors for the Broward Education Foundation.
Joining the board is Ash Benzo, vice president of non-profit banking for BankUnited; Ric Green, president/CEO of the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce; and Kaizer Talib, president of Urbanform Design Group, Inc. and Abacus Development Group, Inc.
“We continue to attract high level business leaders to our board and Ash, Ric and Kaizer are no exception,” said Christina Fischer, Broward Education Foundation Board of Directors Chair. “They share our vision and mission and they all will be a tremendous asset to us as we continue to make a difference in the lives of students and teachers in Broward County.”
Benzo is also a Registered Investment Advisor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He is a published author of financial literacy programs and creator of Education Economics 101, a curriculum designed to utilize the fundamentals of economics to create desired behavioral outcomes in the classroom.
Green is the President & CEO of the Greater Pompano Chamber of Commerce and was recently inducted into the Broward Education Foundation Hall of Fame, receiving the Community Achievement Award which honors alumni of Broward County Public Schools who have made significant achievements in any field.
Talib has been involved in alternative sources of energy for 25 years and has participated in research, teaching and design in a variety of projects throughout five continents. He is an author of several technical papers and a book on housing.
